Approving and Publishing are two important tools when working with online content, as the content will not appear on the website unless a Publishing has been made, while Approving ensures a high quality in the content. Publishing of the content is required for the content to appear, while Approving is mandatory. The approval process takes place in a workflow, where multiple workflows may be created, each customized to contain multiple states. This can be set from the Sitecore Administration.
